      TL;DR — Ruthless Tab Declutterer does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. Everything stays in your browser.
    

1. What Data We Collect

None. The extension does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII), browsing history, or usage analytics.

All extension data — settings, tab statistics, streak counters, and snooze counts — is stored locally in your browser using the chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.sync APIs. This data never leaves your device.

2. Permissions & Why We Need Them

tabs — To read tab URLs for domain-based grouping and snooze functionality.
tabGroups — To create, rename, and manage Chrome Tab Groups.
alarms — To schedule snooze timers and periodic checks using Manifest V3-compliant alarms.
storage — To save your settings, analytics, and snooze counter locally.
notifications — To send optional pre-snooze notifications (when enabled).
contextMenus — To provide right-click options for quick tab actions.

3. Network Requests

The extension makes one type of network request:

License validation — When a user activates a Pro license key, the extension sends the key to the Gumroad API (https://api.gumroad.com/v2/licenses/verify) to verify the purchase. Only the license key is sent. No browsing data, tab information, or personal data is included in this request.

No other network requests are made. There are no analytics endpoints, no telemetry, no tracking pixels, and no third-party SDKs.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transfer any data to third parties. Period.

5. Data Retention

All data is stored locally in your browser. Uninstalling the extension permanently deletes all stored data. There are no server-side backups or cloud copies.

6. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top will change. Significant changes will be noted in the extension's changelog.
